Cox's Bazar Airport

Cox’s Bazaar Airport is the airport serving the city of Cox’s Bazaar, a popular tourist destination in Bangladesh. The airport is located in the southeastern part of the country and is considered to be the third busiest airports in Bangladesh, after Dhaka and Chittagong.

Cox’s Bazaar Airport serves as a gateway to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, including the longest natural sea beach in the world, Cox’s Bazaar Beach. The airport has direct flights to and from major cities in Bangladesh, such as Dhaka, Chittagong, and Sylhet. The airport is owned and operated by the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) and has a single runway.

Cox’s Bazar Airport is a domestic airport in the resort town of Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. The Airport was built by the then British government during the Second World War for war use. After the end of the war it fell into disuse and was abandoned for a long time. In 1956, the Government of Pakistan renovated it and opened it for commercial use. At that time, PIA started operating flights to Cox’s Bazar for a few days, but these flights were stopped soon after, thus two PIA flights started and stopped again. This airport was damaged in the war of independence in 1971 and Bangladesh Biman flights started from 1972 after renovating it.

Cox’s Bazaar Airport has a number of airlines operating from its premises, including Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the national carrier of Bangladesh, as well other local airlines such Novoair, US-Bangla Airlines and Air Astra.
