On December 3, marking the third anniversary of the operation of the China-Laos Railway, the Mohan Railway Port, an important hub on the railway in Yunnan, successfully passed the on-site assessment by the World Health Organization and was awarded the title of an "international sanitary ground crossing." This achievement signifies that the Mohan Railway Port's ability to respond to international public health emergencies has reached world-class standards.

The Mohan Railway Port is located in the border town of Mohan on the China-Laos border and connects with the Laos' Boten port. It serves as a key hub on the "Golden Route" of the China-Laos Railway. The preparation for the assessment of the international sanitary ground crossing at Mohan Railway Port has strengthened the public health cooperation between the governments of China and Laos. Domestically, a station office has been established at the railway port, and a comprehensive, multi-layered network for joint prevention and control has been created with local government authorities, international travel health centers and technical centers. This ensures that public health risks at Mohan Railway Port are safe, controllable and closed-loop. Internationally, the China-Laos Railway maintains close communication and cooperation through mechanisms such as the monthly meetings of station heads at Mohan and the Laos' Boten border station, and the China-Laos Railway operation and maintenance coordination meetings. Joint initiatives, including cross-border train health monitoring and public space sanitation checks, are jointly carried out. Additionally, comprehensive emergency drills covering all processes and elements are regularly organized, establishing a strong, long-lasting joint prevention and control mechanism between the port and local authorities.
