On December 22 2024, the first pier cap of the main tower on the navigation bridge of the Hangzhou Bay Cross-Sea Railway Bridge was completed, marking a transition to the tower column construction phase. The Hangzhou Bay Cross-Sea Railway Bridge is a crucial segment of the Nantong-Suzhou-Jiaxing-Ningbo High Speed Railway, part of China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high speed rail network along the coastal corridor. The bridge is expected to be operational by the end of 2027 and will connect with multiple lines, including the Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway and the Shanghai-Kunming High Speed Railway.
